We're currently looking for a business developer (full time), field producers (contract based) and fall intern (paid + for credit).

Story/Business Developer

Overview: SeeBoundless is looking for a talented story/business developer to grow the company’s presence in digital storytelling. This person should be eager to create social change through storytelling. Working with traditional video, augmented reality and 360-degree video, SeeBoundless utilizes a multitude of tools to help change the world for the better and our business/story developer will help us pitch and find new partners for this venture.

Duties:

  • Work with CEO/Founder on long term strategies of SeeBoundless
  • Pitch project ideas to potential partners
  • Collaborate with partners to build out long-form projects
  • Build and manage budgets for short term and long term storytelling projects
  • Meet with SeeBoundless’ already existing network of storytellers to refine project opportunities
  • Organize and coordinate with partners and managers to incorporate partner feedback into projects

Skills/Competencies:
The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Capable of working on deadlines
  • Easily adapt to new storytelling technologies
  • Work with partners in understanding large visions for social change
  • Interest and understanding of social good initiatives
  • Meet sales revenue goals set by CEO/Founder
  • Work well with a variety of partners outside of the company and a network of freelancers within
  • Have some flexibility in schedule
  • Be detail oriented both in scheduling and budgeting of projects as well as in long-term strategy planning

Relevant Background:

  • 2 to 3 years experience as a producer or project manager
  • 2 to 3 years experience in sales and revenue goals
  • Well networked in the West Coast storytelling space both with news organizations and non-profit social good organizations

Dates:

  • Phase 1: Three month trial beginning Fall 2018 (20 hours a week)
  • Phase 2: Full-time employment beginning Winter 2018

Compensation:

  • Phase 1: $2,500/month + commision of projects brought in
  • Phase 2: $36,000/year + commision of projects brought in + benefits (health + 401K)

Location: SeeBoundless is located in WeWork Playa Vista, California and this position is expected to work on site (parking included).


Field Producer

Overview: SeeBoundless is looking for talented field producers to grow the company’s production capabilities in digital storytelling. Working with traditional video, augmented reality and 360-degree video, SeeBoundless utilizes a multitude of tools to help change the world for the better and our field producers will help us create these materials.
In 2017, SeeBoundless produced content more than 150 days in the field and as we grow our partnerships in 2018 we are looking to connect with and hire multiple contract field producers.

Duties:

  • Plan and produce high quality visual stories on location
  • Organize and coordinate with partners, assistant producers and crews
  • Work with SeeBoundless’ business developer to accurately estimate project costs
  • Pitch story/project ideas to company and partners for development
  • Work with crew sizes of 1-5 (depending on project scope/budget)

Skills/Competencies
The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Capable of working on deadlines
  • Willingness to travel
  • Problem solve in the field -- especially in remote locations
  • Adapt to new storytelling technologies
  • In depth understanding of visual workflows using Adobe and Apple products
  • Work well with a variety of partners outside of the company and a network of freelancers within
  • Ability to operate high end camera systems (Sony, RED, Arri, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of 360-degree video and AR/VR storytelling practices

Relevant Background:

  • 2 to 3 years experience as a producer, dp, photographer or videographer
  • Well networked in the storytelling space both with news organizations and non-profit social good organizations

Compensation:

  • Contract day rate and hourly rates will be negotiated on a per-project basis

Location: SeeBoundless is located in WeWork Playa Vista, California and this position is expected to be able to work on location at least once a quarter regardless of current projects (time/travel expenses will be covered by SeeBoundless).


Fall Production Internship

Overview: SeeBoundless is committed to education and helping talented storytellers get their start. Our founder has taught or spoken at more than two dozen universities across the United States and has benefited immensely from working with talented students across the country.

This internship will help you gain a myriad of skills in the development, production and distribution of digital storytelling. SeeBoundless partners with news organizations, non-profits and corporations to tell stories that make a difference and promote social good. 

Duties:

  • Work with CEO/Founder on story development
  • Pitch project ideas to company
  • Organize and coordinate with partners and managers to incorporate partner feedback into projects
  • Act as an assistant producer on existing projects (filming and editing)

Skills/Competencies:
The ideal candidate will be able to:

  • Capable of working on deadlines 
  • Easily adapt to new storytelling technologies
  • Desire to learn ethically sound story development process
  • Understanding of Adobe and Apple software
  • Interest and understanding of social good initiatives
  • Have some flexibility in schedule 

Relevant Background:

  • Must be enrolled in a two or four year institute of higher education
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in communications (college courses included)

Pluses:

  • Good sense of humor 
  • Minorities, first generation college students and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply

Dates:

  • Fall 2018 (Sept. 11 - Dec. 14) -- we are pretty flexible on this

Compensation:
$10/hr with an estimated 10-15 hours a week*
